Sometimes I sit alone, thinking of how to bring solutions to our communities in my country Nigeria. One of the challenges we are facing is lack of constant electricity. Hardly can you get 8 hours supply of electricity in Nigeria and only a small percentage of Nigerians own generators to provide electricity. The large population of Nigerians cannot even afford the small ‘I pass my neighbour’ generator to atleast charge their mobile phones. Hence the alternative of a mobile phone charging kiosk that you pay little amount to get your phone charged.

Mobile phone charging is a booming business in Nigeria. But wait a minute, do you know how much is spent on buying generators to power the charging kiosk annually in Nigeria? And how much fuel daily is consumed? Let's do some Maths here, suppose there are 500,000 of such kiosk in Nigeria and each of the kiosk power generator consume just two litres of petrol at N97 per litre. You will be surprised to know that the amount spent on petrol daily is N97,000,000. and almost Three Billion in a month.

I asked myself the question; isn’t there any alternative? Because apart from the huge amount spent daily, there is the environmental pollution from such power generators. In my research, I came across a wonderful invention of solar powered mobile phone charging kiosk by the solarway company.
